Water and Dams in Today's World Video

The USSD presentation, Water and Dams in Today’s World, is now available as a YouTube link. The presentation, available at no charge from USSD, may be used by teachers, agencies, associations, service club members, and water resources professionals to present the benefits that people realize from dams. The video was developed by the USSD Committee on Public Awareness.

Hydrologic Cycle:

The Hydrologic Cycle comprises five processes: condensation, precipitation, infiltration, runoff, and evapotranspiration. Water vapor condenses to make clouds which results in precipitation. This falls to the earth and soaks into the soil or runs off to the ocean. Water from lakes, streams, and the ocean evaporates and returns moisture to the air. Plants return water to the air through transpiration.
