The main role of the USSD Committee on Foundations is to undertake special studies, prepare reports, and collect and disseminate data regarding the overall engineering and geological aspects of foundations for large dams and their appurtenant structures, as well as the reservoir floor and rim. The impact these aspects have on safe performance of the project are also examined. Contact Info@USSDams.org for more information and to get involved.Learn More

I couldn’t be more proud to be a member of the US Society on Dams. Without question USSD is home to the best and brightest minds when it comes to the ins and outs of dams and levees. Our fingerprints are on virtually all aspects of their care and oversight including policy, legislation, planning, design, engineering evaluations and analysis, construction, education, risk, guidelines, training, forensics, and host of other areas. When it comes to dams and levees there is no other group of people I respect more.
The proof of this statement is shown in the strength of our organization and its members. In the last three years our membership ranks have grown by 15% and the organization’s financial position remains stable. This growth and success have continued through the most significant pandemic our country and world has seen in over 100 years.
None of this is an accident. The accomplishments of USSD have happened because we are all working on its behalf. We have an outstanding group of
