Hydro Needed to Meet 2020 Carbon Goal

The headline above is from the April 25th editorial in the Boston Globe. The editorial underscores the tremendous importance of hydro, particularly the new hydro coming from Hydro Quebec via the "Northern Pass" project, in meeting the goals of the EPA Clean Power Plan for states in the Northeast.

Kinder-Morgan recently withdrew plans to construct a new natural gas pipeline from New York into New England. This change, coupled with the pressures on states to reduce carbon emissions from electricity generation, puts the importance of hydro front and center in the needs of the nation.
