We approach problems with creativity and innovation.  Schnabel is seeking an engineer with a background in geotechnical or water resources for a staff level position to support our growing business.  We are looking for a motivated candidate with attention to detail, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team. The successful candidate for this position will gain practical knowledge and experience while solving real-world engineering problems under the supervision and mentoring of senior engineering personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

– Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions to real-world problems as part of a team of engineers and scientists while under the supervision of senior engineering personnel.

– Perform hydrologic and hydraulic studies.

– Perform geotechnical engineering analyses.

– Perform reinforced concrete design.

– Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports with input and guidance from senior engineers in accordance with internal drafting procedures and guidelines.

– Collect data and measurements in the field.

– Observe construction and performing materials testing.

– Ability to travel and work in the field is required.

Required Skills/Experience:

– A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering (or related) from an ABET-accredited program is required.

– Master’s degree in related discipline preferred.

– 2 -4 years of professional experience.

– Successful completion of the EIT.

– Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel

– Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

– Positive attitude and self-motivation to grow professionally.

Other Requirements:

– Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record, and credit check.

– Ability to lift 60 pounds and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, enter trenches, climb ladders and work outside.

– Ability to pass a pre-employment screening
