The Recruitment and Growth strategic domain encourages USSD to nurture the growth of the community of practice through the following goals:

Foster career paths in engineering to increase the talent pool for our industry.
Attract young professionals into the industry and USSD activities.
Develop a means for integrating Young Professionals and new professionals into the heart of USSD.
Women and minority STEM outreach.

STEM Outreach

USSD supports STEM – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics – education as a means to encourage students to pursue careers in the dams and levees industry. Each year, USSD donates to a STEM organization located in the city where our Annual Conference is held.
