18th USCOLD Annual Meeting and Lecture Proceedings

Foreword

The theme of the Eighteenth USCOLD Annual Lecture was Managing the Risks of Dam Project Development, Safety and Operation. The Lecture was organized by the USSD Committees on Public Awareness, Dam Safety and Monitoring of Dams and Their Foundations. The Lecture addressed the following topics:

  • Project Planning and Social-Economic Issues
  • Dam Safety Risk Management
  • Project Operation and Monitoring

A total of 35 papers are included in the Proceedings. Authors are specialists with broad expertise from the U.S., Canada and Australia, representing consulting firms, government agencies, universities and utilities.

The Lecture organizing Committees extend thanks and appreciation to the Eighteenth Annual Meeting and Lecture Host, the New York Power Authority.

Special thanks are also extended to the Committee Members who selected the abstracts and reviewed the technical papers and to the authors who prepared the papers included in the Proceedings.
