Exhibition Opportunity

Companies providing goods and services related to dams and reservoirs, dam operation and maintenance, dam safety, hydro power and water resources are invited to participate in the 28th USSD Annual Meeting and Conference, April 28 - May 2, 2008 in Portland, Oregon.

This important Conference will bring together more than 250 professionals from the public and private sectors, including federal and state agencies, academia, consultants, contractors and dam owners. The Conference theme is The Sustainabiity of Experience — Investing in the Human Factor. Technical Sessions will focus on best practices and new technologies related to concrete and embankment dams, dam safety and risk, construction, and surveillance and monitoring. The Conference will provide an exceptional opportunity to exhibit products and services featuring technological advances related to dams and water resources. Two workshops will be offered on Thursday — Dam Failures/Incident Case Histories and Dam Decommissioning.

The Conference is organized by the U.S. Society on Dams (USSD), a nonprofit professional society. Conference details.

Who should exhibit?
Companies providing goods and services related to dams, risk assessment, dam engineering, seismic analysis, monitoring and instrumentation, safety of dams, water resources and water management are invited to exhibit.

Exhibition Information

The Exhibition opens at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, and closes following the afternoon coffee break on Wednesday, April 30. The exhibits will be in an area also used by the Conference participants for continental breakfasts, lunches, coffee breaks and the Tuesday evening reception, so traffic is assured. Setup begins on Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Space will be available for freestanding displays and tabletop exhibits. The Exhibition Fee includes one space (10 feet wide by 8 feet deep) with a table, two chairs and electricity. No booth dividers or backdrops will be provided, except for backdrops for spaces 11-20.

Only 28 exhibit spaces are available, as shown on the Exhibit Hall Floor Plan. Booth assignments will be made in the order that exhibit Reserveration Forms and payment are received. To be listed in the on-site program, exhibit reservations must be made by April 18.

Exhibition Fee

The Exhibition Fee is $1095 and $875 for Organizational Members of USSD, a 20 percent discount. USSD Sustaining Members are entitled to an exhibit at no additional cost. Contact USSD for membership information.

The Exhibition Fee allows one person to participate in all Conference activities, including the technical sessions, receptions and meals, a Workshop or Field Tour on May 1, and a Field Tour on May2. Additional staff members from exhibiting firms are welcome to participate, but will be expected to pay the Exhibitor Staff Registration Fee of $495 per participant, a reduction from the full Registration Fee of $795. Contact information for each exhibitor representative should be included in the Exhibitor Reservation Form.

USSD has contracted for additional rooms in the University Place Hotel, on the campus of Portland State University in downtown Portland. The University Place is about five blocks from the Portland light rail system in the fareless square. Light rail service to the Doubletree Hotel is free. The rate is $114 plus taxes. One sponsor representative may participate in the full Conference at a Discounted Participant Registration fee of $595; and/or may attend a Workshop for a fee of $150. Additional representatives will be expected to pay the Member registration fee of $695.
